This guy was sculpted in Zbrush. For the head I started from a sphere and sculpted using dynamesh. After retopologizing him with a zsphere I used the UV Master plugin to give him basic UVs, which I then took into Maya and polished up. For the glasses, I started with a cube and used the the zmodeler brush to build the low poly. Next, using polygroups and creased edges I subdivided the glasses to the final smooth shape, maintaining edges where necessary. The glasses were also given basic UVs with the UV Master plugin and taken into Maya for UV cleanup. The eyes were done similarly to the glasses. Each eye has an inner shell and outer shell for texturing purposes. Fibermesh was utilized in the creation of the hair, brows and stubble. Finally for the eyelashes I used a curve brush. At this point everything except for the final cleanup on the UVs has been done in Zbrush.
For presentation purposes he was lit and rendered in Zbrush with BPR and comped in Photoshop. Check out the full resolution image here.
